Assignment: Spanish Preterit Tense Exploration

Objective:
Explore and practice the usage and conjugation of verbs in the Spanish preterit tense.

Task Description:

Explanation of Preterit Tense:

Provide a brief explanation of the Spanish preterit tense, highlighting its use to express
completed actions in the past.
Regular Preterit Verb Conjugations:

Explain the regular verb endings for -AR, -ER, and -IR verbs in the preterit tense.
Irregular Preterit Verbs:

Introduce commonly used irregular verbs in the preterit tense (e.g., ser, ir, hacer, tener, estar,
etc.) and their conjugations in this tense.

Assignment Tasks:

a. Conjugation Practice:
- Use the list of regular verbs provided (at least 10 -AR, 10 -ER, and 10 -IR verbs) and
irregular verbs.
- Conjugate these verbs in the preterit tense across all subject pronouns (yo, tú, él/ella/usted,
nosotros/as, vosotros/as, ellos/ellas/ustedes).

b. Sentence Writing:
- Ask students to write ten sentences using both regular and irregular preterit tense verbs.
Encourage varied sentence structures and contexts.

c. Verb Identification:
- Offer a paragraph with missing verbs in infinitive form. Students must identify the correct
verb and conjugate it in the preterit tense.
