Workbench Procedure

1. Launch Ansys Workbench, and set up the project.

2. In the Analysis System tab select Static Structural analysis, this will create a new
analysis block.

3. Define material properties by selecting Engineering Data Source and add Al7075-
T6 material which is in the Explicit Materials section.

4. Go to the Geometry tab and import geometry.

5. Choose IGS File, Right click on model and click edit.

6. Set up for analysis by defining the material properties and applying contact pairs.

7. Go to the Mesh tab, generate mesh for the geometry, adjust the mesh parameters,
and select Fine Mesh.

8. Apply loads, by selecting Static Structural, insert fixed support, remote


displacement, and pressure.

9. Apply Remote Displacement is on walls of die.

10. Fixed the lower plate base and die base, Apply pressure on ejector rod.

11. Go to the Solution tab and click on the Solve button to start the analysis.

12. After the analysis is completed, go to Tools and click on Write Metafile so this
geometry is saved as an input file format.
13. Open Mechanical APDL and import this input file and enter the EPLOT command.

14. Go to the Preprocessor tab, apply the pressure loads.

15. Go to the Solution tab and click on the Solve button to start the analysis.

16. Go to General Postproc, and click on Result Viewer to review all the results.
