routine problem solving involves using at least one of the four arithmetic operations and/or ratio to
solve problems that are practical in nature. Problems:1. How many cubic centimeters are there in 112
liters?Answer: 1500 cm3

2. Daniella bought 12 12 kilos of pork. She cooked 13 of it for lunch and kept the rest. How many kilos of
pork were left?

Answer:12 12 kg ¿ 12.5 kg x 13 = 12.5 kg3 = 4.167 kg , 12.5 kg – 4.167 kg = 8.33kg

3. The area of the rectangular lot is 860m2. The length is 3 more than twice the width. What is the
dimension of the lot?

Answer:

860 m22x+3 860 m2 x width , 2x+3 length

Formula for area: l x w = area

(2x+3) x = 860

2x2 + 3x = 860

2x2 + 3x – 860 = 0
