New International Student Checklist

We are excited to welcome you to study at Pierce College! Here are the next steps to
obtain your F-1 student visa and prepare for arriving to study at Pierce College!

Print this list and check-off each task when completed.

☐ Print out your I-20 and admission letter(s). Sign your I-20 on page 1 at the bottom.
☐ Pay the I-901 SEVIS fee at: https://www.fmjfee.com/
☐ Locate your local U.S. Embassy and complete the online DS-160 form
☐ Schedule a helpful visa preparation session with the Pierce College International
Education staff. You’ll receive an email invitation. You can also visit your local
Education USA location for visa prep advising.

☐ When you receive your visa, email us at internationalapp@pierce.ctc.edu

☐ Arrange for your flight to the U.S. Please plan to fly into the Seattle-Tacoma
International Airport (SEA). https://www.portseattle.org/sea-tac

☐ Remember to carry your printed, signed I-20 with you on the airplane. U.S.
Immigration will not accept digital copies!

☐ If you need airport pickup, please email Mary at MMEULBLOK@pierce.ctc.edu with

your flight information

☐ Your advisor will email you with important information about your program of study,
please respond as soon as possible. IMPORTANT: Students with proof of English
Language Proficiency will register for college classes prior to arriving into the U.S.

☐ Attend the New Student Orientation sessions (required)

☐ Pay your tuition during the first week of the term. You can pay online, bank transfer
or on campus at the cashier’s office

☐ Finally, please check your email often for updates from Pierce College! If you
change your email address, please let us know.
