HANDWASHING

Procedures 5 4 3 2 1 Remarks
1. Remove all jewelry such as ring, bracelet
and watch.
2. Inspect the hands for cuts and laceration
and apply betadine after handwashing.
3. Wet hands with water in running water and
ample amount of liquid soap.
4. Lather soap, Rub hands together and in
between fingers. (Palm to Palm)

5. Rub hands right hands over left dorsum with

interlaced fingers and vice versa.

6. Palm to palm with fingers interlaced.

7. Back of fingers to opposing palms with

fingers interlocked.
8. Rotational rubbing of the left thumb
clasped in right palm and vice versa
9. Rotational Rubbing, backwards and
forwards with clasped fingers of right hand in
palm and vice versa.
10. Rinse hand with water
11. Dry thoroughly with single use towel or
paper towel.
12. Use towel to turn off the faucet.
