    With regard to the Hindu Newspaper Report Azad reference omitted in NCERT
    textbook, it is stated that there has been no change in the Textbook of Class XI
    Political Science Indian Constitution at Work in the process of rationalization of
    2022-23. The rationalized version available in the print and online form highlights
    the retained contents of the textbook in its entirety as given in the textbook editions
    of 2019 and 2020.

    While exploring the matter in earlier editions of the textbook, it was found that
    from 2014-15 onwards the name of Maulana Azad was not there in the referred
    para. This textbook for the session 2014-15 was finalized for printing in October
    2013 as per the record of the Publication Division. So, the Hindu Newspaper
    Report has not correctly reported on the matter and linked this matter with the
    present rationalization exercise, whereas this was done as a regular practice of
    reprinting of NCERT textbooks updating and correcting the information.
    Hence the reporters must be cautious and serious while reporting on such
    sensitive issues.

    In the context of Jammu and Kashmir mentioned in the same report, it is stated that
    contents relating to the same was updated for 2020-21 in view of the abrogation of
    article 370 in 2019.
