In my school, every student has to attend three PE classes a week.

In spite of the outstanding

importance of doing sports and being healthy, PE lessons can’t reach their essential goal: to make the
students love sports.

To begin with, PE classes are usually too boring for me, since the scheme is always the same:
we do some warming-up, running, than we do gymnastics or play some sports. We just want to get
over the PE lessons, even though the majority of the class loves physical activity. In addition, the
schedule of PE classes is also very illogical. For instance, on Monday two classes are in the changing
room, so that thirty boys need to be in a small, stink changing room, it’s really hard to deal with.
Everybody tries to find a place to change their clothes: in the middle of the aisle, behind the door, on
the windowsill, in the shower stall or hanging from the lamp. Besides this, on Wednesday we have
only four classes, but unfortunatelly we have a PE lesson in the seventh class, therefore we have to
be in the school for two hours off. Moreover, for those who are not a member of a sports club, it’s
obligatory to take part in two extra PE classes which are held in the afternoon and this is especially
trying for the students.

But don’t get me wrong, in my opinion doing sports and living a healthy life is exceedingly
important. Just don’t force students to do someting they don’t want to (e. g. rope-climbing or high-
jump), because it will take away the charm and soul of the physical activities. Perhaps the solution to
this problem would be to have fewer, but better-arranged and more interesting PE lessons. I’d be
happy if everyone could do what they are really good at.
