1. SCOPE:-

Scope covers application of Black Bitumen Paint as cold applied, effective waterproof,
weatherproof and corrosion resistant coating for below ground concrete, Exposed and buried metal
surfaces such as corrugated sheets, fire escapes, stairways, ladders, gutters, down pipes, fences, railing,
gates, pipes, etc.

4. GENERAL AND SAFETY REQUIRMENTS:-

4.1 Prior to the commencement of any activities, the workforce will receive introductory training on the
project specific, site safety requirements. This education will include both activity safety issues, as well as
general safety requirements. Attendance to evidence this training will be recorded, and attendees will be
required to sign in acknowledgement.

4.2 Where possible hazards may arise from this activity, the necessary safety measures will be taken to
prevent accident or injury at all times. This may include barriers, warning tape/ net, signage, watchman, and
proper lighting.

4.3 Where work near existing services may be required, the necessary work permits and safety equipment
should be obtained prior to the activity commencement.

4.4 HSEO will enforce that Personal Protective Equipment be worn by site personnel at all times during
construction activities. Supervisory Engineer and Foremen will be responsible for enforcement of the PPE
policy.

4.5 Provisions of adequate cool drinking water, shade, and table salt will be in place.

4.6 Plant & Equipment will be provided back-up alarms, lights, and all other applicable safety devices.

4.7 All Plant and Equipment operators will be required to hold valid license compliant with local
regulations.

5. RESPONSIBILITIES:-

5.1 Project Manager:-

Responsible to ensure that project time schedule are approved from client. Responsible
to coordinate all required activities are carried out. Links all required activities / information to execute
the project. Prepare delivery sequence according progress in site and client requirements. Notify to
Quality Department and Production Manager any situation with delivered elements (complains,
rejections, etc.)

5.2 Construction Manager:-

Planning and preparing construction schedules. Monitoring progress against


established schedules. Directing the purchase of building materials and land acquisitions. Coordinate
between the site team and procurement team.
5.3 Site Engineer:-

Responsible to execute the project scope of work and provide resources required for
the work. Responsible to ensure that project time schedule are approved from client. Responsible to
coordinate all required activities are carried out. Links all required activities / information to execute
the project. Prepare Execution sequence according progress in site and client requirements. Notify to
Quality department and Quality Engineer any situation with execution work.

5.4 QC Engineer:-

Developing and implementing quality standards. Developing and implementing quality


control systems. Monitoring and analyzing quality performance. Inspecting and testing materials,
equipment, processes and products to ensure quality specifications are met. Collaborating with operations
managers to develop and implement controls and improvements. Ensuring that workflows, processes,
and products comply with safety regulations. Investigating and troubleshooting product or production
issues. Developing corrective actions, solutions, and improvements. Reviewing codes, specifications, and
processes

5.5 Chief Surveyor :-

Taking measurements of distances and angles on a property or section of land in order


to establish legal boundaries. Employing specialized equipment, including distance measuring
wheels, GPS, and geographic information system (GIS) devices to measure boundaries and
contours. Performing mathematical calculations to determine and confirm surveying measurements.
The Temporary fence will be marked with help of survey instruments. Analyzing Data using plans,
maps, charts, and software such as AutoCAD and GIS programs.

5.6 Site Supervisor:-

Control and record of all incidences during execution of works. Inform to Site
Engineer any situation will affect quality of works. Execute the activities according delivery
sequence. Assure health and safety conditions for all employees. Approval from client about
execution work.

5.7 Health, Safety and Environment:-

The Health, Safety and Environmental (HSE) Officer is responsible for identifying,
assessing and advising on risks arising from the workplace or work processes, recommending
measures to eliminate or minimize and control the risks and implementing the measures.
6. TOOLS AND EQUIPMENTS:-

a. Black Bitumen Paint


b. Brush, roller and hand tools
c. Air compressor for clean the surface
d. Generator for night work
The capacity / size of the above tools and equipment shall be judged in accordance with site
conditions, requirements, and availability at the time of execution.

7. WORK PROCEDURE:-

7.1. Surface preparation:

1. Surface shall be clean, dry and free from loose particles before application of membrane water proofing.
2. Dust, loose materials and protrusion s must be removed and cracks holes repaired with approved
materials.
3. For better performance surface may be dampened but not wet, particularly in hot and dry weather.

7.2. Application:

1. The drums must be well stirred before use. Where a single drum is used for prolonged periods,
occasional stirring during application is recommended.
2. Apply Black Bitumen Paint by using brush roller or spray equipment.
3. Apply evenly in one direction.
4. Application should be done in two coats to avoid any possible holidays in the film.
5. Each coat must be allowed to dry before applying the next one.

7.2. Coverage:

1. Metal and smooth surfaces: 10m2/ litre per coat.


2. Concrete and Porous Surfaces: 5-6 m2/ litre per coat.

8. INSPECTION:-

All activities (reception of material, toolbox meeting and daily activities) will be recorded by the Site Engineer.
In case of approval of this activity executed, QA-QC Engineer will request signature of the SEC engineer after
Bitumen paint were applied had been approved. First coat to be inspected before staring of second coat. Second
coat to be inspected before starting the next activity.
