made significant contributions to various
aspects of the region's culture, society,
and heritage.

Out of the 6.5 million indigenous people in


the Philippines, there are an estimate 2.1
million Lumads in Mindanao.

Out of 100% indigenous people in the


Philippines, 32% of them are the Lumads.

The T’boli, Bagobo, and the Yakans are


known as Non-Muslim and Non-
Christians. Speaking of Moro and Lumad
music are oftenfeatured in Mindanao
Cultural presentations. Some example
of their musical piece are: ElGalina,
Capituda of Chavacano, No te Vayas of
Zamboanga and just like our activity
earlier the Tu Man of T’boli.

Now, let’s proceed to their Vocal Music.

The vocal music of non-Islamic groups in


Mindanao encompasses a diverse range
of styles and traditions, reflecting the rich
cultural heritage of the region. These
traditions often include indigenous forms
of vocal music performed by various
ethnic groups such as the Lumad and
other indigenous communities.
