‘One Nation-One Pass’ to facilitate the
seamless transit of timber, bamboo, and
other forest produce across the country

About National Transit Pass System


• It is envisioned as a "One Nation-One Pass" regime, which
will enable seamless transit across the country.

• It will streamline the issuance of timber transit permits by


providing a unified, online mode for tree growers and farmers
involved in agroforestry across the country, contributing to
the ease of doing business.
▪ Currently, transit permits are issued for the transport of
timber and forest produce based on state-specific transit
rules.

About National Transit Pass System

• Features:
▪ It will offer seamless QR-coded transit permits, managing
records for both inter-state and intra-state transportation of
timber, bamboo, and other forest produce.
▪ These transit permits will be issued for tree species that are
regulated.
▪ It also allows users to self-generate No Objection Certificates
for exempted species.

• So far 25 States/UTs have embraced this unified permit system.

▪ Distribution between the Union and the States of the net
proceeds of taxes and the allocation between the States of
the respective shares of such proceeds.
▪ Principles governing the grants-in-aid of the revenues of the
States out of the Consolidated Fund of India under Article
275 of the Constitution
▪ Measures needed to augment the Consolidated Fund of a
State to supplement the resources of the Panchayats and
Municipalities.

Sukanya Samriddhi
Scheme
Ministry of Finance has increased the
interest rate on the Sukanya Samriddhi
Yojana (SSY) Account by 20 basis points
from 8% to 8.2% for January - March
2024 quarter (Q4FY24) i.e. from January
1, 2024 to March 31, 2024.

About Sukanya Samriddhi Yojana

• Objective: To promote the education of girl children.

• Launch Year: It was launched in 2015 under Government’s


“Beti Bachao Beti Padhao'' campaign.

• Eligibility:
▪ The girl must be an Indian resident.
▪ The account can be initiated by the parent or legal
guardian of the girl child.
▪ The girl child must be below the age of 10 at the time of
opening the account.

About Sukanya Samriddhi Yojana


• Limitations/Exclusion
▪ Only one SSY account is allowed per girl child
▪ A family is limited to opening a maximum of two SSY
accounts
▪ NRIs are not eligible to open this account

• Deposits under SSY account


▪ Minimum deposit: Rs 250
▪ Maximum deposit: Rs 1,50,000 in a financial year

• SSY Account Maturity: It matures after 21 years from opening


date or upon account holder's marriage, whichever is earlier

About Sukanya Samriddhi Yojana

• Partial Withdrawal for SSY account:

▪ Up to 50% of the amount in the account at the end of the


FY preceding the year of application for the education of
the account holder.

▪ Such withdrawal shall be allowed only after the account


holder has attained the age of 18 years or has passed the
10th standard, whichever is earlier.
