USE OF THE INDEFINITE ARTICLE

We use the indefinite article when we are speaking of something in general.

Examples
o He has a laptop
o We study in a school.
o He wants an apple

We can also use “a” or “an” in place of “one” (singular).

Examples:
o She wants an apple
o There are a hundred students in the university.

We use "a" or "an" when we refer to something
