FINAL EXAM: CW 101

Answer the following questions

1. (25 pts.) How should the government of a certain country address issues and concerns about illegal
migratory influx of people?

Every country has their statutes protecting their national interest that is governed by their independent
sovereignty. When it comes to illegal migration which often or certainly pertains to people from poor
countries who seeks safety, security, and opportunity, it is by default not beneficial to the country they
pursue to enter with relevance to the national interest for there is nothing to be gain in exchange,
except, if for a contract per se or a rendered service referring to a long term huge investment.

However, it is only viable if there is should we say enough numbers of people with reference to only
how much can the government spend for the said program given that these people are likely to be
productive and efficient. Yet, if the private sector would love and determined too for whatever reasons
in addition perhaps of the citizens there to help in catering the influx of illegal immigrants knocking on
their doors, then maybe this particular problem will be averted or sorted out.

But, to say the least, it is a stretched out fancy scenario. For it will be a reverie to inculcate an ideal
society to a broken and corrupted one. Again, what are the odds that these people will be of value to
the country? Note that every country has their respective internal conflicts and difficulties already. In a
business-minded perspective to which most politicians are economists, this whole scenario is an
enormous risk that can catapult to many other problems like a sinister endangering the nation in all
possible way, an infiltration to the system or disturbance to the peaceful and relatively normal lives of
the citizens when there is a possibility that one of those immigrants is either a spy or a contagious virus.
(It’s hard to identify an individual within the flock for it camouflage along side with investment).

Therefore, the government must verify the identity of these people back to their countries of origin,
check their backgrounds, interview them with a lie detector, and probably examine or evaluate them
under a certain tests to add things up for their possible significance to the country that can be referred
to the categorical program the country had established; all to which are considered and enabled by the
bilateral treaty of both countries involved.

Illegal immigrants must be monitored and be brought to a camp or site restrictively and be given a guide
and information on the life of the country, the law, system, conduct, and all briefing to come out and
live like one of the citizens. But before that, the government must observe and record the performance
and activities of these people up until they reach the standard or set forth requirements to be eligible
and acquire citizenship and all other amenities and privileges.

After probably a decade, these people (illegal immigrants which are now either has dual citizenship or
alien to their countries of origin) that are taught and learned the necessary significant things to be able
to start up a company on their own or work under the established companies the first world countries
had built in their countries of origin and slowly take over the management and expand the business to
somehow recruit their fellow citizens instead of embarking in illegal migration.
Through this engagement and agreement, it won’t only benefit the people but will strengthen the ties of
the two countries and will have a good partnership in economic development and other areas as well.

With the process being said, it does takes some time before the government can profit from it’s so-
called workforce investment hence, the influx of illegal immigrants is exponential. I might not have
empirical data to support my claim, but knowing this pandemic had crippled the economy of several
countries and now adding the Ukraine war, it’s just too much for third world or unfortunate countries to
bear and manage at the same time not to mention the internal conflicts the government already has e.g.
corruption and terrorism. Therefore, those below the chain suffers indescribably and for hundred
reasons they can only breathe through the hope of illegal migration. Sadly, the empathy of the citizens
living in the first world countries and their government support is not enough to suffice this endless
problem for there are also a lot of their citizens experiencing recession and in incomparable the same
situation.
