DATA AND METHODOLOGY

Sample selection

For this study, as it has been done on the comparison of the public sector banks,

Two public sector banks have been selected which are:

SBI (State Bank of India): It has been selected for the study as it is the largest public sector bank in
the country, which provides us with the benchmark performance.

Bank of Baroda: An another public sector bank, selected as it has been going in a digital transition
which keeps it updated with the technology that other country banks possesses.

Period of study

For this study, the study period has been chosen for 5 financial years that is from the financial year
2017-18 to 2022-23.

Source of data

For this study, sources has been collected from the financial statements of the banks, annual report
of the banks, Ace equity.

Techniques used

For this study, the comparison has been done using the ratios analysis technique from different
aspects of comparison namely:

- Profitability

- Liquidity

- Leverage

- Efficiency.
