The shown reducer transmits the motion from the motor to
the user, the spur gears have all the same module. Motor
shaft is connected to gear 1. Gear 1 and gear 4 are coaxial.
Determine:
- angular velocity 4
- output torque C4 (on shaft 4)
- reaction forces R on supports A and B of the chassis.
Data:
z1 = z3 = 17; z2 = 52;
C1 = 10 Nm;
n1 = 3000 giri/min;
b = 80 cm.

[4 = 33.57 rad/s; C4 = 93.56 Nm; RA = RB = 104.5 N]

Motor M drives the lifting of mass m by means of reducer
R and drum T. Efficiency of the reducer is  and the gears
have all the same module.
Data:
m = 100 kg; dT = 200 mm (drum diameter);
z1 = 18; z2 = 36, z3 = 20 (teeth numbers of gears 1, 2, 3);
 = 0.95 (reducer efficiency);
Determine:
1. teeth numbers of gear 4;
2. transmission ratio of the reducer
With the hypothesis of constant lifting velocity V
determine:
3. motor torque
4. reaction torque from the ground to the reducer
carter

Body 1, having mass M is lifted with constant velocity V,
by means of the ideal rope 2 wrapped around drum 6. Rope
4 is wrapped around two pulleys: one is the driven pulley 3
fixed to the drum 6, the other is the driving pulley 5.
Data:
M = 100 kg;  = 30°; V = 0.5 m/s;
f =0.3 (dynamic friction coefficient body 1- inclined plan)
R6
= 0.2 m (radius of drum 6);
R3
=0.3 m (radius of pulley 3 ),
R5
=0.1 m (radius of driving pulley 5).
Determine friction force T, tension T1 and T2 on of the rope,
torque Cm on the driving pulley 5, transmission ratio i,
power Pm necessary for the lifting of body 1.
