Outcomes-Based Education (OBE) Course Syllabus in Seminar in Teaching 2 BSEd English 4A AY 2023-2024

I. COLLEGE:

Goals : The goals of La Carlota City College (LCCC) are as follows:


1. Quality and relevant educational programs;
Specific Objectives:
a. Secure government recognition from the CHED for all academic programs.
b. Enhancement of materials and equipment to strengthen institutional and instructional needs.
c. Improve the instructional standards of the institution.
2. Holistic human competence through trainings, advanced studies and research;
Specific Objectives:
a. Enhance faculty through trainings, workshops, conferences and advanced studies and research.
b. Strengthen the implementation of programs on awards and incentives.
c. Enhance linkages with stakeholders to promote wellness
3. Relevant research;
Specific Objectives:
a. Conduct institutional research for the improvement and innovation of curricular instruction and community and extension services.
b. Conduct study on enhancement of office procedures and processes.
c. Enhance linkages with stakeholders to promote more venues to research.

4. Technology-based extension programs; and


Specific Objectives:
a. Strengthen linkages with local and international stakeholders.
b. Introduce appropriate and sustainable technology to community beneficiaries.
c. Maximize employees and students involved.
5. Market-driven products.

a. Conduct consultative conference of industry competency needs.
b. Increase student’s hours of exposure to actual workplace.
c. Package new programs, practices and services.

II. COLLEGE SCHOOL MISSION STATEMENT:

The Education Department will produce graduates imbued with knowledge, skills and values as innovator, research-oriented, technology savvy responsive to service, with an
entrepreneurial mind and risk-taker business practitioner who can serve their communities responsibly and contribute to better quality of life and become globally competitive.
The Education Department considers it vitally important to keep capable individuals engaged in the work of formation to become truly proficient school administrators and teachers.
The Education Department through its activities will also endeavor to be of service to the community and the nation.
Education Department students have access to computer facilities and library services.

Objectives:
1. To provide professionals opportunities for growth and advancement in agriculture, education, management of schools and public constituents.
2. To develop desirable values, train graduate students to become efficient and effective leaders, managers, teachers, entrepreneurs, and rural community workers as agents
or
development.
3. To develop ability to undergo scholarly investigations and research in the discipline such as public administration, education and community development.

VII. COURSE DESCRIPTION:


This course built with the theoretical foundation for Education task and functions. Students have to experience preparation of the teaching and learning methods.

At the end of the semester, the students must can:
1. discuss the origin and nature of teaching and learning
2. identify the different views of education review
3. explain the Philippine education and theories to improve the quality of life of the Filipino people
4. display/manifest principles on teaching.
