PROJECT PROPOSAL (GAD)

I. TITLE : Enhancing Health and Gender Equality: Gender-Responsive

Distribution of Vitamin C, Alcohol, and Face Masks

DATE : OCTOBER 19, 2023

II. RATIONALE

Learners, teachers, and school personnel often face unique health

challenges and vulnerabilities due to biological, social, and cultural factors. By
addressing their specific health needs, we can contribute to gender equality and
empowerment.

Vitamin C plays a vital role in supporting the immune system, which is

crucial for overall health and disease prevention. Alcohol-based sanitizers help
maintain proper hand hygiene, reducing the risk of infection transmission. Face
masks act as a barrier against respiratory diseases, including COVID-19. By
promoting these preventive measures, we can improve health outcomes and reduce
the burden of illness.

Distributing vitamin C, alcohol-based sanitizers, and face masks ensures

equitable access to essential health supplies. The distribution of health supplies
not only enhances individual health but also contributes to building a safer and
healthier environment. Alongside the distribution of health supplies, this proposal
includes educational components that raise awareness about the importance of
vitamin C, proper hand hygiene, and the correct use of face masks. By providing
information and promoting health literacy, we empower learners, teachers, and
school personnel to make informed choices about their health and well-being.

III. OVERVIEW

To achieve a significant impact on the health, safety and well-being of the

learners, teachers and school personnel, the provision and distribution of vitamin
C to children beneficiaries shall be done in the school together with their
parents/guardians, to be supervised by the teacher adviser per grade level. One-
time distribution shall also be observed for the teaching and non-teaching
personnel. In addition, a short health guide/handout will be attached.

IV. OBJECTIVES

General Objective

 The project aims to improve health and gender equality through the
distribution of essential health and hygiene supplies.

Specific Objectives
 Boost the immune system of the learners and teachers by providing
Vitamin C;
 Support the school personnel the needed vigor in the performance of
their functions;
 Increase awareness among teachers and parents to their children the
benefits of vitamins and minerals and other information on health
and wellness through the health guide/handout.

V. EXPECTED OUTCOME

The learners are expected to show observable physical strength and

stamina leading to improved performance and better learning outputs. Also,
with good immunity, it is presumed to transpire 85-100% favorable
response, for the learners, teachers, and school personnel. In totality, the
distribution of health and hygiene supplies helps to promote, protect, and
maintain the health status of learners, teachers, and school personnel.
