Journal entry # 5

This journal contains all my learnings from the group 5 reporters which was all about myths,
legend, epic, bible stories, boigraphy, Autobiography, fairytale and so much more.

Fortunately, I've learned a lot from the topic since I'd love to watch myths, legend and bible
stories most especially how the characters portrayed their roles as a hero and a gods. When I
heard myths from the reporter the first thing that comes to my mind are the gods and
goddesses. I'd learned that, it portrays the culture backgrounds of people before up until today
who strongly believes that there were god and Goddesses in any creations like Zeus from the
Greek mythology he was the king of the Gods such as God of the sky, lightning, thunder and the
like. Hera the Queen of the gods and goddesses of marriage and women. It simply shows the
life of the Greek people before including their contributions in arts, music, architecture,
education and religion which will remain traditional and important that must be learned and
appreciated to each of us. I have also learned that myths focuses on the Gods. Whereas,
legends gives focus to the human heroes in some historical events as well as, the bible stories
which portrays the creations and stories of some important events from the past decades
includes the life of Jesus, the journey of Moses, Abraham and many more as prophet who have
different tasks given by the Almighty God.

However, Autobiography talks about the first person's life experiences it turns to become a
biography, if it is written by the second person point of view or the person narrated the life of
the first person's life and experiences. Otherwise, folklore and fairy tales contains a fictional
stories and events without knowing that some of it has a deepest meaning from the real
situation of societies and different cultures way back then. Unlike from Autobiography and
boigraphy they are both non-fictional stories of a person's life experiences. As I have observed
all of these produce stories which depicts the different situations, important events, personal
experiences or stories, culture and societal problems in the history which has a great
contributions to the different aspect in the society, culture and environmental issues and
events. We are nothing without history. Stories from the past events is just like a life, we cannot
go forward without looking back and accept our past. In other words, past events is not just a
thing to remember but a way which define to where we came from. Its stories are all part of the
past and must be valued and shared as a way of interpreting and understanding not just our
own history and culture but also to the other people's culture as well. And most of all it is
important to learn the most important events in history which helps our curiosity turns into a
more knowledgeable mind which means, we are aware and inspires us to learn more.
