B. Presentation
Read the passage and find the evidence to prove that the
opinion is true.
The pandemic has brought many challenges in our lives like loss of
jobs, limited transportation, and food shortages most especially to poor
families. Some people became hopeless because of the situation. But there
are things that we can do to avoid the spread of the virus. Wearing of
facemasks protects you or other people from the saliva droplets that come
out of our mouth every time we talk. If you wash your hands more
frequently, the virus will be killed. When you observe physical distancing, the
virus will not be transferred to others or vice-versa. And if you stay at home,
there is no chance that you will get infected. And eventually, the virus will be
gone. The sooner we act on this, the sooner we will become virus-free.
Opinion: In my opinion, we can win over COVID-19 even without the
vaccine:
How can we fight and win over the CPVID-19 virus?
 Wearing of face mask
 Hand washing
 Physical distancing
 Staying at home
B. Discussion
If someone has to make an opinion, he/she may begin his /her
statement with:
 In my opinion….
 I Think….
 I Believe…
 I guess…
Example:
 In my opinion, another MECQ in Metro Manila is needed to slow down
the increase of Covid-19 cases.
 I think that the president’s decision on Modified Enhanced Community
Quarantine (MECQ) is the best in the country
 I believe many people will complain about transportation because of
another Modified Enhanced Community Quarantine (MECQ).
 I guess there will be another Social Melioration Program SAP because
of the MECQ.
When someone is giving opinion, there shoulbe be enough evidence to
prove that his/her opinion is true so that he/she may convince others to also
believe in it.
When we read or listen to someone’s opinion, we look for proof of
whether the opinion is true or not. It is easier to believe in an opinion if there
are more pieces of evidence.
Writers usually provide evidence to support their ideas or opinions.as a
reader, it is up to you to review the evidence.
