The Pastor-Acosta Ancestral House's interior decor highlights the features and characteristics of

Filipino architecture. These qualities can still be seen when visiting the ancestral home today.

Upon entering the Entresuelo, a variety of historical artifacts and objects, including antique
autos, cannons, and artworks, are on display. Stone tiles are used as the building's flooring. Storage
space and a welcoming space to accommodate house guests are situated on the ground floor.

As you walk up the stairs to the second story, you will be greeted by an inside balcony. There are
numerous ancestor relics and pictures on display. The second floor's flooring is made of molave wood.
Most of the furniture in Sala and Antesala is made of wood and has been skillfully fashioned in appealing
Filipino styles. Filipino artistry is also evident in the elegant chandeliers and other lighting fixtures.

Passive lighting and ventilation are designed to be used within the interior design. In every
space, warm air escape points are situated in the upper portion of the walls. However, this method
scarifies the architectural acoustics.

The most noticeable characteristics of interior of the Pastor-Acosta Ancestral House are highly
detailed designs and its durability. The details of the calado partitions, Capiz windows, and furnitures
really contribute to the beaty of the interior. Given also the years of the structure after created, the
house is well-maintained through the years.

Architectural Details

Capiz Window with Persiana Louver window – Second-floor windows are made of Capiz shells. It
offered durability that would withstand typhoons and heavy winds. Persiana Louver windows
additionally let in air while obstructing direct sunlight.

Barandillas

The Barandillas is one of the signature details in Filipino architecture. It is carved by hand out of wood in
exquisite detail. It is seen from the Acosta Ancestral House's inner balcony.

Small sliding window in lower part of wall

Quartos have small sliding window in lower part of the walls. This allows cool air to enter the room. This
strategy improves the circulation of cold air.

Calado partitions These designed partitions are placed in higher part of the walls of Quartos. It allows
the warm air to escape the room. It’s not only improved the aesthetic appeal of the room, but also
improves the circulation of air inside the rooms and areas.
