1. Define basic concepts necessary to understanding the course.

Introduction:
Society and education are intricately connected, as education plays a vital role in shaping
the fabric of society. Education equips individuals with knowledge, skills, and values that enable
them to contribute to the betterment of society. It serves as a catalyst for social mobility, helping
individuals break free from the shackles of poverty and inequality. Moreover, education fosters
critical thinking, empathy, and understanding, promoting tolerance and harmony within diverse
communities. A well-educated society is more likely to thrive, innovate, and address pressing
societal challenges. It is crucial to prioritize equitable access to quality education for all members
of society to ensure a brighter future for individuals and the collective as a whole.

A. Defining Society and Education

Society
⮚ It is made up of various institutions that work together in cooperation as an
action system. It refers to social relationship that exist between the different
individuals living in the community

Community
⮚ It is the various individuals, groups, businesses, and institutions that reinvested
in the welfare and vitality ofa public school and its community.

Education
⮚ It is a process of imparting skills and knowledge. It is a lifelong journey that
enables individuals to develop their intellectual, social, emotional and physical
capabilities

Social Interaction
⮚ It refers to the dynamic process of communication, exchange, and engagement
between individuals or groups within a social context

School Culture
⮚ It is the traditions, beliefs and values that exist in schools
