Batangas”.

The purpose of the study was to determine the "effectiveness of risk
management in the Bureau of Customs Batangas." It looked at the respondents' age, gender, and years of service/profession. The study assessed the level of risk management effectiveness in terms of risks to customs administration, supply chain, and citizens/nation. It also looked into whether there were any significant changes in risk management efficacy when respondents were divided into groups based on their characteristics. Finally, the researchers offered measures for strengthening risk management at the Batangas Bureau of Customs. The study used a descriptive research method, with a questionnaire serving as the primary data collection tool. Respondents included 56 employees and 48 brokers/processors who were chosen at random and in a methodical manner. The data was analyzed using percentages, weighted means, independent t-tests, and ANOVA.
In accordance to the study's findings, the majority of respondents were
between the ages of 24 and 41, with an equal distribution of males and females among brokers/processors and more males than females among BOC employees. The majority of brokers/processors had been with the company for five years or less, whereas BOC employees had ten years or more of experience. According to both groups, the assessment of hazards for customs administration, supply chain, and citizens/nation demonstrated a modest level of effectiveness. Based on years of service, there was a considerable variance in BOC employees' evaluation of risks for customs administration. The researchers offered measures to improve the effectiveness of risk management, with an emphasis on tackling the lowest weighted mean risks as rated by BOC workers and brokers/processors.
At last, the study identified opportunities for improvement in the
effectiveness of risk management at the Batangas Bureau of Customs. Implementing tougher laws and practices to combat smuggling, improving secure storage for imported items within the supply chain, and encouraging individuals to report any suspect importation activities are among the study's recommendations. The research suggests the need for additional research to delve deeper into specific factors influencing customs risks and corresponding mitigation strategies. This research provides valuable insights for the BOC and other stakeholders to improve their risk management strategies and practices, fostering more secure and efficient customs administration, supply chain operations, and safeguarding citizens' and the nation's interests.
