ABSTRACT
● The data used in this study span from 2009 to 2019. Relevant diagnostic tests and regression analysis are performed to obtain the
empirical evidence highlighted in this paper. Thus, the findings reveal that the Food Production Index significantly and positively
impacts poverty reduction, while Agricultural Output has an immaterial negative effect on poverty decrease.

● It is evident that various dimensions of agriculture, encompassing gdp ratio ,life expectancy and gini coefficient , exert
substantial influence on the poverty headcount ratio. Consequently, it is imperative that a comprehensive, long-term
agricultural development strategy with the overarching economic development objectives of ASEAN nations.

● The dataset employed for this analysis comprises key variables, including agricultural growth and the poverty
headcount ratio, meticulously sourced from authoritative institutions such as the ASEAN Economic Outlook (AEO),
Regional Economic Indicators (REI), and ASEAN Development Indicators (ADI).and world database indicators Robust
econometric methods, particularly the ordinary least squares (OLS) technique, have been judiciously employed to
estimate the econometric model.

INTRODUCTION
This study aims to determine the efficacy of agriculture in poverty reduction by employing agricultural productivity level and
food production index to test the effect of agriculture on the purchasing power of the public.

Poverty refers to a situation of scarcity, inadequacy or shortage of monetary possessions necessary to meet
physiological and basic human necessities. These include nutritional food, wears and accommodation, safe
drinking water and other essential health facilities;

a set of microeconomic household models for a sample of 26 developing countries to examine the possible impacts of
higher agricultural productivity (through genetically modified plants) on household incomes, farmers' earnings and
poverty lessening. The study found that higher agricultural productivity emanating from research and development
significantly reduced poverty by lowering the cost of low household consumption. Another finding of the study is that
improving agricultural productivity among developing countries could lead to poverty reduction in the global context.

● within ASEAN countries. Furthermore, it is evident that various dimensions of agriculture, encompassing cash crops,
livestock, fisheries, and forestry, exert substantial influence on the poverty headcount ratio. Consequently, it is
imperative that a comprehensive, long-term agricultural development strategy, meticulously aligned with the
overarching economic development objectives of ASEAN nations, be meticulously crafted and implemented. Such
a strategy has the potential to expedite agricultural growth, thereby catalyzing poverty reduction and advancing
broader economic development across the ASEAN region.

the aim of this study is to examine the impact ofreducing food poverty by increasing agriculture sustainability in
asean countries Agriculture's potential to reduce poverty and supply food to be little, especially in low-income nations' this
depth analysis will be helpful in giving in depth policy recommendations to boost the economic growth The promotion of
agriculture will minimize the issue of malnutrition and extreme level of poverty. AGR is the annual contribution of agriculture

Descriptive and stationary analysis

This section explains the descriptive statistics and estimation of the model using ordinary least squares
method. Table 1 shows the standard deviation, minimum and maximum values of Agricultural growth,
poverty, .
Table 4: OLS results of the effects of agricultural growth on poverty alleviation Dep: variable: Poverty headcount

rate
Poverty headcount and agriculture has positive correlation ,Poverty headcount and gdp growth has positive correlation
Poverty headcount and gini coefficient has positive correlation but Poverty headcount and life expectancy has negative
correlation showed.

Conclusion

1 The objective of this study is to identify the impact of reducing food poverty by increasing
agriculture growth in asean countries by usind annual time series from 1990 to 2022 .

2 By increasing Agriculture growth in asean countries to reduce food poverty plays vital role .and
increasing countries gdp growth also.

3 The promotion of agriculture will minimize the issue of malnutrition and extreme level of
poverty. AGR is the annual contribution of agriculture as a whole to GDP at current basic
prices. That means all the components of agriculture put together at the moment cannot
alleviate poverty

Policy recommendations

● The government should endeavor to provide the necessary facilities to boost agriculture .This study's
necessary offices incorporate satisfactory power supply, storage space, credit office, compost, seedlings,
ranchers' preparation, current innovation and cultivating hardware, broad business sectors, right streets,
and transport situation. Human resources improvement in the nation incorporates schooling of the labor
force that can support public development [38] through unmistakable contribution to farming turn of
events. A portion of the ranchers come up short on expected preparation on the best way to deal with
bugs obliterating ranch crops. Hence, the public authority ought to try to give the essential schooling to
the ranchers to support farming
● The government should endeavour to provide the necessary education for the farmers to boost agriculture in asean
countries. Government participation and budget increase for agriculture are also essential. Suppose the government
can give farmers the necessary cooperation. In that case, it will go a long way to boost the output of all agriculture
components and minimize food poverty in the all countries especially in rural areas also.
