PART I ( COMPULSORY)

Question 1

Study the extract of the Survey of India Map sheet ​No. 45 D/10 ​( 2015 ICSE map) and
answer the questions that follow below: (​ 8 marks)
a. State a point of difference between the slopes in grid square 2104 and
grid square 1908?
b. Differentiate between the settlements in grid square 1506 and grid square
1706.
c. Identify the drainage patterns in grid squares 1606 and 1708.
d. Identify the conventional symbols in black, in grid squares 1409 and 1711.
e. Calculate the difference in height between the highest point and the lowest
in the map extract.
f. What is the main source of water supply to the township of Abu in the
map extract?
g. What do you understand by the term brackish in grid square 1403?
h. A person travelling from Sunset point in grid square 2110 to Hanumanji ka
Mandir in grid square 2208 which direction would he follow?
