A busy Thursday on the committee front with many meetings being held throughout the day.
Canadian Heritage will hear from witnesses on the topic of Canada's 150th Anniversary in 2017.
Access to Information, Ethics, and Privacy Committee continues its study of the Access to information dispute and the
resulting court actions concerning CBC.
Foreign Affairs will receive a briefing on the Global Fund to Fight ADS, Tuberculosis and Malaria with testimony expected
from CDA and the Global Fund To Fight ADS, Tuberculosis and Malaria.
Among the list of witnesses that will appear before the Justice and Human Rights committee as part of its ongoing
deliberations on Bill C-10 (omnibus crime bill) are: Canadian Association of Elizabeth Fry Societies, Fredericton Police
Force, Canadian Council of Criminal Defence Lawyers, Centre for srael and Jewish Affairs and the Canadian Centre for
Abuse Awareness.
The OfficiaI Languages Committee will hear testimony from the Quebec Community Groups Network as part of its study
called Evaluation of the Roadmap: mproving Programs and Service Delivery.
DND and DFAT officials will brief the Defence committee on the Situation in Libya.
AboriginaI Affairs will receive a departmental briefing on the treaty process
A mix of pharmaceutical and agricultural organizations are slated to appear at the InternationaI Trade committee
regarding the Comprehensive Economic and Trade Agreement (CETA) with the European Union.
PubIic Safety is holding another meeting on the topic of Drugs and Alcohol in Prisons with scheduled witnesses from
Correctional Service of Canada.
Citizenship and Immigration once again considers the issue of mmigration Application Backlogs in Light of the Action
Plan for Faster mmigration with the Canadian Construction Association and others slated to appear.
Canadian Environmental Assessment agency officials return to testify and will be joined by the Canadian Energy Pipeline
Association and the Canadian Environmental Law Association at the Environment committee as part of its Statutory
Review of the Canadian Environmental Assessment Act.
AgricuIture continues the Growing Forward 2 (Science and nnovation) study and will meet with the Sustainable
Chemistry Alliance, Canadian Horticultural Council and others.
Human Resources meets again regarding the study entitled, A Framework for Success: Practical Recommendations to
Further Shorten the Foreign Qualification Recognition Process.
Fisheries and Oceans will hear from department officials again on the topic of Closed Containment Salmon Aquaculture.
More hearings are scheduled at the Status of Women committee on Abuse of Older Women.
Maria Barrados, President of the Public Service Commission of Canada appears before the Government Operations
committee regarding the Public Service Commission's 2010-2011 Annual Report and Various Reports and Studies

Text of Motion: That, in the opinion of the House, the government should: ( ) recognize that the construction and maintenance of
public infrastructure plays a vital role in the creation and protection of jobs, and that infrastructure is a strategic asset that supports
vibrant, prosperous and sustainable communities; ( ) act immediately to counter the crisis of crumbling infrastructure and the very
real risks it poses to the economy, security, and the quality of life of Canadians; ( ) develop a legislative framework, with clear
targets, to provide sustainable, predictable and long term infrastructure funding agreements with provinces, territories,
municipalities, First Nations, nuit and Mtis communities; ( ) cooperate with stakeholders to encourage the use of sustainable and
innovative infrastructure design models, and to develop sustainable building codes that favour energy and water conservation and
the reduction of greenhouse gas emissions, and take into account changing demographics and evolving rural-urban linkages; ( )
index the Gas Tax Fund to economic and population growth and increase the existing gas tax transfer by one cent per litre, and
consider other alternative funding mechanisms to ensure municipalities, large and small, have the long-term capacity to build and
maintain public infrastructure; and () acknowledge its exclusive financial responsibility for, and immediately announce its intention
to replace, the Champlain Bridge.
