Exploring/Emerging (E) - a level of practice in which the teacher leader relies on ongoing assistance
from more experienced colleagues for support, guidance, and survival. The teacher leader is moving
toward becoming more self-directed and independent in her/his practice.
Applying (A) - a level of practice in which the teacher leader is able to provide independent
leadership and easily applies what s/he has learned about leadership.
Integrating/Innovating (I) - a level of development in which the teacher leader is fully skilled and
confident. The Integrating/Innovating teacher leader contributing to the broader educational
community through staff development, research, or publication in professional journals.

As an Education Specialist, I consistently collect data on This domain includes a lot of areas I would like to
my students IEP goals. I use the data to make necessary improve on. I would like to feel more comfortable using
adjustments to the goals throughout the year. I have research when selecting teaching strategies. I would
helped the newer teachers in my department with also like to feel more comfortable working with
collecting data from IEP goals and we have collaborated organizations completing research on important
on how we can work goal work into our curriculum for educational issues.

Three Examples of Domain 3 Experiences Areas of Interest in Growth
Over the past 2 years, I have worked closely with the I would like to feel more comfortable providing
other Remedial English teacher at my school, the SLP, constructive feedback to my colleagues. Even though I

I am an active participate in our weekly SPED PLCs, our
monthly PLCS with the general education teachers, the
PD days for the SPED teachers held by the district, and
the PD days held by our school. I recommend different
topics that can be covered that would benefit out
school/district as a whole and recommend different
team building activities that I feel others would enjoy.

As an Education Specialist, I consistently collect data on I am always hoping to improve with how I collect,

Last year, myself and the other teacher that teaches the
remedial english teacher were able to secure additional
funds from our district. These funds allowed us to buy
new materials, including high interest reading materials
and adapted texts for our remedial English classes.
Areas of growth I have identified is being more in touch with the diverse cultural and ethnic needs of our
communities. I would also like to be more comfortable with seeking out, understanding, and incorporating new
research into my classroom practices.
