Functionalities of a computer

1. Input
Input involves in providing data, instructions,
commands related to input text, images, music,
videos etc. So that the computer can perform task by converting instructions into
its own language. Some Basic Input devices are-mouse, Keyboards, cameras,
microphones etc.

2. Processing
The central procesing unit (CPU) is the ''brain" of the computing device. After the
date is input, the computer process the instructions to execute the command of the
user and also store it as memory. Manipulations are handled by the central unit,the
Arithmetic Logic unit and Temporary storage.

3. Output
Output involves in communicating the result of the entered input, once it is
processed.Some Basic output devioes are - monitor, speakers, printer, etc.
Depending on the functions the output devices transform the data into various forms
such as - text, audio , visual or visuals copy so that the users can easily
perceive and understand it.

4. Storage
The Storage function of a compuder involves in retrieving data for processing .It
includes both short-term meroey (RAM) and Long-term memory.

( I ) Short term memory (RAM): It is a volatile memory used for temporary storage.
It clears when the computer is powered off.

( II ) Long term memory: it includes hard drives, solid state drives(SSD s) and
other storage drives. It is a non volatile memory used for long term storage.
Stores Data even when the computer is turned off and stores the user files.
