Record Notes of WRM of SG package held on 30 Jan 24 with M/s

LMB chaired by ED(Project)

With respect THDC email dated 29.01.24, LMB has presented the status and plan to complete
different systems required in achieving next milestone i.e BLU and Synch. of Unit-I.
The pertinent points of the discussion are as follows:

1. LMB has been instructed to promptly commence the erection of LBS in the CCR U#1 section.
2. The erection progress in U#1 (1260/3241 MT) and U#2 (539/1107 MT) as of January 29th
is significantly behind schedule, with less than half of the committed target achieved.
THDC/NTPC has also noted that the manpower allocated for the erection work in Unit-II is
insufficient, with only around 300 personnel available against a requirement of 800 at this
stage. LMB has been requested to address this disparity. LMB informed the ill performance
is due to excess fog in the month of Jan-24.
3. LMB has indicated that the structural erection of the cable tray supports up to ID fan-A will
be completed by January 31st, 2024, and that the subsequent cabling work will be finished
by February 5th, 2024.
4. The ducting welding work is progressing at a slow pace. LMB has been asked to increase the
manpower assigned to this task and complete it within the scheduled timeframe.
5. The ESP pass-B ATT is yet to be completed. During the last WRM on January 17th, 2024,
LMB reported that the Pass-B ATT would be finished by January 17th, 2024. However, it
remains incomplete to date. LMB has assured THDC that the pass-B ATT will be completed
by January 31st, 2024, and the pass-A by February 3rd, 2024.
6. LMB conveyed that the Chimney-1 borosilicate lining work will commence from 01.02.24,
after availability of the Blower at the site which is to be transported from Ahmedabad.
7. LMB reported that the Bottom ash hopper refractory pin welding has commenced. The
refractory work vendor will be mobilized at the site by 02.02.24, and the work is expected
to be completed by 12.02.24. LMB has been requested to promptly submit the Total scope,
procedure, and Day-wise work schedule.
8. The auxiliary piping joint welding progress for January 2024 is 2790 against the planned
target of 5280 joints. THDC/NTPC expressed dissatisfaction with the slow progress and
instructed LMB to complete the work as per the committed schedule.
9. LMB has committed to offer inspection of 2 nos HRH joints by 03.02.24, 2 nos LP By-Pass
joints by 05.02.24, and the dates for inspection of CRH 2 nos joints will be shared
separately.
10. LMB informed that the ST-8 Seg-1 last gallery erection will be completed by 03.02.24,
following which, the LDO piping erection work will be completed within the next 2 days up
to the Boiler.
11. LMB is requested to include the scanner cooling air fan completion schedule in the
presentation.
12. THDC/NTPC asked LMB to provide access for firefighting work to M/s Gaja in the Boiler
from the ST-8 side and CD Bay side from 31.01.24.
13. THDC/NTPC asked LMB to complete the ash slurry pipeline pedestals and trench work at
the earliest and to quantify & plan weekly progress required.
14. LMB has informed that Ball mill & Gypsum Dewatering buildings, along with surrounding
paving work shall be completed by 10.02.24.
15. THDC/NTPC reminded LMB to plan and execute all works so that BLU could carried out on
22-Feb-24 as per agreed schedule.
