Museum Expansion Case Study- Donovan Felice

Letter to Sponsors

Dear Trusted Supporters,

In arriving to a solution to our problem, I have chosen our method to proceed. After careful
consideration using the reschedule and a partial use of the crashing and ladder method in combination
with increased overtime would provide the deliverables are met on time. For long projects that extend
overtime there is less risk involved in this process. I also assure overtime will be heavily monitored and
used only as it is most effective. This method results in the project completion estimated at most likely,
for 56 days in total.
This combination of methods also ensures the quality of the work does not suffer. With the phasing in
and out of certain tasks, that are manageable onsite we can coordinate and solve any issues that arise
more efficiently.
I came to this conclusion based on the schedule currently presented of 89 days, to alleviate this issue
and reduce the time required to complete it. I believe with proper care and management it can be done
faster.
Steps taken to ensure quality include:
- daily checkups on progress
-daily monitoring of activities and contractors on-site
-Weekly progress reports and scheduling
-constant communication
-using skilled labor
I believe these steps to be unequivocally beneficial to us and this project.
The tradeoffs of this plan would decrease time for the project, but it could cost slightly more. The more
material and labor required for this project to get an additional week worth of work even with
compensations for mistakes and delays would require an additional cost should our contingencies
remain in place.
In the event, we fall behind, or contractors fail to hold their own a list of backup contractors have been
contacted and scheduled to pick up slack as well assist other contractors should they run into issues.
This ensures even despite communication, if quality work is not up to standard they will be on short
notice.
Crashing will often create more project cost; the delayed project deliverables could severely impact the
timeline more so than before. Which is why it will be highly managed, coordinated, and monitored.
The Schedules are far more flexible, allowing certain aspects of the project to be crashed. This also
allows much lag and delay consideration based on further discovery, research, and information.
If you have anywhere questions, concerns, feel free to call, email, or set up an appointment. We are
always available your concerns take priority.
