Teaching Dates: February 7, 2024 Quarter: 3rd
PLAN

I. OBJECTIVES
The learners demonstrate an understanding of organisms having feedback which

are coordinated by the nervous and endocrine systems.

mechanisms to maintain homeostasis. (S10LT-IIIc-36)
Knowledge: Describe the basic organs and functions of the nervous, endocrine,
and reproductive system.
D. Learning Objectives Skills: Research and present in front of the class the basic information gathered
about the nervous, endocrine, and reproductive system.
Attitude: Cooperates in group activity and displays teamwork.

IV. PROCEDURES
A. Reviewing previous lesson or Review on the previous organ systems discussed during their 9th Grade. It will
ELICIT

presenting the new lesson be done by showing slides of different organ systems and then students’
previous knowledge about its functions and parts will be collected. The
following organ systems are included for review:
Circulatory System, Digestive System, & Respiratory System
Ask the students how the digestive, circulatory, and respiratory systems work
together, and how a person’s lifestyle affects these systems.
B. Establishing a purpose for the Assess the students’ prior knowledge on organ’s functions using the Pre-
ENGAGE

lesson assessment found in the LM called “Odd Organ Out.” Students will be presented
with a group of images of different organs and will determine which organ does
not belong in each group, then explain why the organ should not be included in
the group.
C. Presenting examples/ instances Divide the students in groups. Students will pre-assess their knowledge
of the new lesson regarding the nervous, endocrine, and reproductive systems using K-W-H-L.
Each of these organ systems will be assigned to one group. They will be given
10 minutes to do the activity.

D. Discussing new concepts & Students will present their K-W-H-L charts in front of the class, and each group
practicing new skills #1 will have 5 minutes to present their works.
E. Discussing new concepts & Give an overview of Module 1’s content. General discussion about the major
practicing new skills #2 parts and functions of the endocrine, reproductive, and nervous system by using
a PowerPoint presentation.

NERVOUS SYSTEM - Connects all your body parts and transmits signals
from one part to another. It is a system of cells, tissues, and organs that regulates
the body’s responses to internal and external stimuli. Through the nervous
system, the organism is enabled to respond to these external factors accordingly.
Major components: Brain, spinal cord, nerves, & nerve cells

ENDOCRINE SYSTEM - Controls and regulates body processes. Generally,

LORE

the endocrine system is in control of the mechanisms in the body that slowly
take place, such as cell growth, regulating growth and development,
metabolism, as well as reproductive processes and mood.
Major components: Hypothalamus & various glands like pineal gland,
pituitary gland, and thyroid gland.

REPRODUCTIVE SYSTEM – Responsible for the production, transportation,

and sustenance of the egg and sperm cells, nurturing the developing fetus, and
production of hormones, all for reproduction.
Major components:
(MALE) Testes, duct system, accessory glands, and penis.
(FEMALE) Ovaries, uterine tubes, uterus, vagina, accessory glands, and
external genital organs.
