Pre-lesson
Tell pupils you are thinking of a toy. They have to guess. Say, e.g. It isn’t a monster. It isn’t a
go-kart. Mime to help them guess. (HOTS)
Lesson Delivery
1. Pupils look at the pictures. Elicit what toys and numbers they can see.
2. Play the recording. Pupils follow the song in their Students’ Books. (CD1 33)
3. Play the recording again, pausing after each verse for pupils to repeat.
4. When pupils have learnt the song, practice it with the whole class and then in groups.
ACTIVITIES
5. Use the karouke version of the song for students to sing in three groups. (21st CA)
6. Pupils look at the picture, find and circle Emma and Mike.
7. Pupils check in pairs and then in fours before the class check.
8. Teacher distributes worksheet. (CBA)
9. Pupils compare their worksheet in pairs.
Post lesson
Pupils sing the song from Student’s Book again. Alternatively, in groups of four, pupils take
turns to sing their new verses from workbook activity 2 to the class.
