Job Description

Department: Engineering Central


Position: Technical Grid Lead
Location: Central Region - As per list attached
Job Type: Permanent
Reporting to: Regional Manager FOPs
Total Positions: 18 (Final number will be decided based on interviews & evaluation)

Job Purpose:

• The incumbent will be responsible to manage end to end field operations activities within
the geographical boundaries of his respective Grid(s). His key tasks include assurance of
network availability and managing network operations within the allocated Opex-budget.
• The other important areas of responsibilities of Technical Grid Lead covers his support to
commercial counterpart(s) i.e. Commercial Grid Manager(s) in meeting their commercial
KPIs i.e. by managing network utilizations through the support of the RAN resources,
dedicated to the grid(s).

Job Responsibilities:

Network Availability

• To monitor grid performance and activities performed by the field teams, ensure
compliance and conformance of assigned 2G/3G/4G network KPIs including
BTSA/NodeBA/eNodeBA.
• To ensure Preventive/Corrective maintenance of Access Network, ACs and Gen-sets is
carried out in time.

Network Utilization
• To closely coordinate with RAN engineers for monitoring of network utilization of 3G/4G
technologies.
Network Quality
• Responsible to resolve grid level BSS/TXN/Power/RAN related issues to ensure high quality
of the network.
• To ensure that the quality KPIs of 4G/3G/2G CSSR, CDR are within the given thresholds.
• Responsible for timely resolution of highlighted issues like worst cells, zero traffic, Top
alarms, Degraded RSLs, Packet Loss etc.

OPEX

• Responsible to manage his grid within the allocated opex-budget, and further take
necessary steps to optimize the OPEX i.e. Electricity/DG Fuel etc.

Team Management

• Assist and manage his resources such as cluster owners, riggers, AC/DG Techs & fueling
teams, and take steps for their capability/competence development.
• To coordinate with regional FOPS manager in allocation of targets & KPIs to field teams on
monthly basis and to evaluate their performance on daily, weekly, monthly and quarterly
basis.
• To ensure timely closure of assigned TTs and Customer complaints assigned to his
subordinates.

Others

• Close Coordination with Sales Grid Manager and cross functional departments for resolution
of owners disputed cases.
• Vendor Management.
• Responsible for weekly/monthly reports as per management requirements
• Support to sales team in achieving their key targets e.g. gross-adds and loading/recharge
etc., by ensuring availability and quality of the network in his respective grid(s).
• Coordination with respective sales teams to resolve customer complaints related to
network issues.

Eligibility Criteria (Education, Knowledge, Experience and Skills):


Education:
Minimum Bachelor’s degree (Degree in engineering domain will be preferred).
Work Experience:
• Minimum 3-6 years of hands on experience.
• Awareness about the environmental challenges of region. Experience of field operations in
Region, and track record of achieving good results.
