The movie/series our group was selected for is "It's Okay Not to Be Okay." It's a South Korean drama/series
that focuses on the psychological analysis of people who are struggling with mental health problems. The main
characters are Moon (Gang-tae) who is a caregiver at a psychiatric ward and Ko (Ko Moon-young) who is a children's
book writer with antisocial personalities disorder. The show captures their emotions and experiences in a realistic
way. It shows the complexity of human psychology when it comes to mental health and focuses on self-love and
support.

One of the main topics discussed in this drama is the impact of childhood traumas on the mental state of
adults. Both of the main characters have gone through traumatic events in their childhoods that are still haunting them
as adults. Moon Gang-tae went through a lot when he was young caring for his older brother who is autistic. Ko Moon-
young went through a violent childhood, so she has some issues related to it. Another important topic discussed in this
series is the impact of trauma and its consequences on mental health. On the one hand, Moon has a lot of burdens,
such as his past that is full of sadness and pain and caring for his brother. This journey reveals the damaging effects of
early life traumas on an individual's well-being and how long-lasting emotional scars can form.

"It's Okay Not to be Okay" also touches on many other forms of mental health disorders, such as depression,
anxiety, borderline personality disorder, and more. The show emphasizes the need for people to seek help, but also
destigmatizes mental health. This is why it has become so popular with viewers. The show is about the struggles and
triumphs of the characters, where they grow, heal, and learn about humanity. It reminds us that our mental health is an
integral part of overall wellbeing, and that we have the right to ask for help when we need it. However, the show goes
beyond awareness-building to become a space for open dialogue. In this regard, it invites its audience to reflect on
their own personal experiences, as well as to challenge societal norms that often make it difficult for people to talk
about mental health. The show brilliantly explores how the characters' experiences from childhood have shaped their
current lives, essentially leaving them with emotional scars and making them poor characters.

She shows this condition through her unpredictable behavior and difficulty in forming emotional attachments to
others. This makes her a well-suited story for those with mental disorders because they find it hard to understand
society's standards and how to communicate with others. It is a way to sensitize viewers about people suffering from
mental health issues and to end the stereotypes. "It is okay not to be okay" is a psychologically in-depth show about
the characters struggling with different types of mental health issues. This show explores child abuse, mental illness
and therapy with the aim to create empathy among viewers toward those suffering from mental disorders. By
emphasizing professional help and avoiding stereotypes, the show helps to advance our understanding of mental health
issues in society as a whole. It reminds us that you can be sad and still be okay with it as long as you get the help you
need for a quick recovery. A thoughtful and captivating show that explores different forms of mental illness. It reminds
us all that we have the right to love, acceptance and understanding, regardless of the issues we face. A series that
incites empathy and makes us appreciate others more.
