COMMUNITY AS A CLIENT MODEL

Community as a client model deals with a community as a recipient of nursing process or the community
as a nursing services in attention.

It is nowadays called a Community as a partner model, this is because the community nurses and the
community both shares the relationship and goals of solving the health needs and both participates on.

FOCUS

The main focus of the Community as a client model is HEALTH PROMOTION. So the relationship of the
community and community nurses mainly contributes to promote health and solving the health
problems.

DIMENSIONS OF COMMUNITY AS A CLIENT MODEL

1. Location

This is the geographical area in which the physical community carries out their daily existence. It
includes community boundaries, geographical features, Climate, Flora and Fauna and human made
environment.

2. Population

This is the group of people living in a particular geographical location. In this model, the focus are not
only the specialized people but also the diverse people living in that area. The community nurse must
consider size, density, composition, Rate of growth or decline, Cultural difference, mobility, Social class
and education level.

3. Social services

Example health services, education services, water services, economic services, religious services,
welfare services, electricity services, legal, communication services and political services
