Question 1
A wooden rod used to support a curtain is simply supported at point A and B as shown in Figure
1. The curtain is kept at closed position to the side. The weight of curtain was measured as
0.075kg as shown in Figure 2. The weight of the wooden rod can be ignored. Simplify this
structure using suitable model. Calculate and draw shear and moment diagram. Identify location
where the value of bending is maximum.
