“BENEATH THE SURFACE “

We are our decisions. Our choices determine our identity. If we choose to act courageously, we become
courageous. But the moment we make a different choice—say, to act callously—we become that next thing. In this
reflection paper, I don't want to focus on what happened to the movie. However, I will give emphasize on how it really
influences my decision-making.
Decision-making process is often more complex than it seems at first glance. It involves gathering
information, assessing risks and outcomes, considering alternatives, and ultimately selecting the best course of action.
I have come to realize that decision making goes beyond mere intuition or gut feelings, and instead requires a
thoughtful and rational approach. One of the challenges I have encountered in decision making is finding the balance
between rationality and emotion. I know that it is really important to consider facts and logic, and that emotions can
also influence our choices but after watching the UNTHINKABLE movie, I tried to reflect on my past decisions, I
have learned the importance of acknowledging and managing my emotions, and not letting them cloud my judgment.
Just like how the main character look at the things differently from what a normal agent sees, I've learned that
analyzing potential outcomes and weighing the pros and cons of different options is a crucial step before taking an
action. I also found that taking the time to gather relevant information, considering various perspectives, and
conducting a thorough analysis can lead me to more informed decisions. The analytical approach that Henry Harold
Humphries use to provide an unthinkable solution has not only provided me with a deeper understanding of the
situation but can also help me mitigate risks and make more effective choices in the future. In addition, I learned that
mistakes are inevitable in the process of decision making. Just like how Agent Brody made a mistake when she
believed Younger that there's no really bomb but, in the end, they found out their selves on wilderness of being
shocked because many people lose their lives because of that one wrong move. Reflecting on my past decisions, I have
had my fair share of missteps and regrets. However, because of many things that this movie impress on my heart and
mind, I have come to appreciate that mistakes are learning opportunities. Each wrong choice can provide me with
valuable insights and lessons that can ultimately enhance my decision-making skills. I learned that embracing failure is
a stepping stone to growth that will allow me to approach future decisions with greater wisdom and resilience. I have
found out that I'm just an individual who sees things in a shallow way, that is why the most important thing I have
absorbed by watching this precious movie, is to Think Beneath the Surface.
To summarize, decision making is a complex and dynamic process that shapes our lives in profound ways.
By understanding and embracing this process, we can enhance our ability to make informed decisions that align with
our values and aspirations. Reflecting on our decision-making experiences, understanding the factors influencing our
choices, and learning from past decisions are valuable practices that contribute to our personal growth and
development. And as I end this, I created this sentence that will summarize my learnings. "In the journey of life, the
choices we make guide our destiny, so don't stop to where you are right now but try to achieve an unthinkable and
beneath the surface decisions, for the power of decision-making has the ability to shape our path and unlock infinite
possibilities."
