Project Base Learning

By: Cristina Larios Zepeda

Task Base Learning
It is an instructional approach that centers on
the completion of specific, goal-oriented
tasks to enhance learners' skills. Rather than
focusing on theoretical concepts, TBL
emphasizes the practical application of
knowledge through short, targeted activities.

Task-Based Learning focuses on specific,

isolated tasks to enhance skills.

**Introduction
1. Start with a brief discussion about the concept of daily routines. Ask students to share one or two activities they do every day.
2. Introduce key vocabulary related to daily activities using flashcards. Pronounce each word and ask students to repeat after you.
**ACT 1 - Vocabulary Review
1. Distribute the handout with sample sentences. Have students match the sentences with the corresponding images of daily activities.
2. Encourage peer discussion for clarification. Monitor and provide assistance as needed.
3. Review answers as a class, reinforcing correct pronunciation and usage.
**ACT 2 - Task-Based Activity
1. Divide the class into small groups.
2. Assign each group a specific daily routine task (e.g., creating a morning routine, planning an after-school routine).
3. In their groups, students collaborate to develop a short presentation describing their chosen routine. Emphasize the use of present simple tense and time
expressions.
4. Encourage creativity in presentation styles.
5. Each group presents their routine to the class. Peers listen actively and take notes.
**ACT 3 - Peer Interaction
1. After all groups have presented, facilitate a discussion among students. Encourage questions and comments about their peers' routines.
2. Monitor and provide feedback on language use and clarity of communication.
3. Prompt students to ask follow-up questions or share similarities and differences in their daily routines.
**Conclusion
1. Summarize key points learned during the lesson.
2. Ask students to reflect on the importance of using the present simple tense in describing routines.
3. Assign homework for students to write a short paragraph about their own daily routine, incorporating the learned vocabulary and grammar.
