How will this lesson be implemented? Check all that apply.
☐ Teacher-directed: There is no student voice and choice in the activities. Students are guided by the
teacher's direction and expectations.
☐ Student-Led: Students are given voice and choice in the activities. They may select the topic for
presentation and/or determine the tool they will use to meet the learning goal. Products of
learning will be uniquely designed. Teacher simply facilitates the learning in a lesson like this.
☐ Project-based and/or Publishable: Students are completing projects to demonstrate their learning
and the projects can be shared outside of the classroom. This objective could be reached by
displaying the project on the school’s morning newscast, posting the project to the classroom
blog, presenting it to another class, or publishing it via an outside source.

Lesson idea implementation:

Each student will be assigned a person. They will each be tasked with creating a slide on their
person using Canva. This slide will be their rough draft of their final product. Each student
must be able to provide different information and unique designs. Once each student has a
slide, they will be put together in groups where each student has a different person. Each
slide will be put into a presentation where it is fluid, consistent, and unique. The designs and

information must be all the same amount of effort and design. Once students have
completed their eBooks they will present. I will provide my eBook as an example for the class.
Managing the technology/engagement: Describe a way to use this technology in a way that
gets students actively involved in authentic tasks and contexts? How will you manage the
classroom behaviors on the technology:
Students will follow along with me on the board with my PowerPoint. Once students have
split into groups, they will be given forty-five minutes to complete their rough draft. Once
they complete their draft, they will be placed into groups and will work to create a fluid
consistent final draft. They will have an hour to work on the final product, and once it is
complete, they will present. Students will be silent for the first forty-five minutes but will be
allowed to talk once they get into their groups. If they are having trouble staying on task I will
implement silent timers for specific groups.

Reflecting on enhanced learning:

I feel like having the ability to focus in on one figure for your presentation but also being able
to learn about others from you peers allows students to better absorb the material. The
creative aspect of building the presentation targets creative students while gathering the
information targets the analytical students. The colorful and fun ebook engages the students
and allows them to be interested in the topic.
