Instructions for 3D T.

Rex
Paper Model Activity
Follow these simple instructions to make your
Tyrannosaurus rex model.
You will need:

A pair of scissors Some glue

What to do:
First, cut out the two templates. You need to cut carefully along the
1 solid black lines. Don’t forget to cut into the short black lines either
side of the dinosaur’s legs.

Now, fold all of the ‘dotted lines’ and the ‘dotted and dashed lines’ on
2 each template. Be careful! The dotted lines fold down (a hill fold) and
the dotted and dashed lines fold up (a valley fold).
Follow this diagram.

Use the picture to line up the two

3 templates. Join the two templates
by gluing tab 1 to the top of the
rectangular part of the other
template.
Now, make the T. rex’s head. Glue
4 tab 2 to the side of the dinosaur’s
face. The curved part above the eye
will stick up slightly.

tab 3.

lizard’ in Greek and ‘rex’ means

dinosaur’s head.

7 Repeat Step 6 with tab 5 on the other side.

Now, glue tab 6 to the other side, to make the front part of your
8 dinosaur’s body.

Glue tab 7 to the shape with the Twinkl logo to join the head to the
9 front part of the neck.

Assemble the dinosaur’s upper body. First, bend the paper to make it
10 curve around the dinosaur’s chin.

Then, attach the arms by gluing shapes 8 and 9. Hold each section
11
until the glue has dried.

12 Now add glue to tab 10 to assemble the tail area of your dinosaur.

Finally, hold your model in both hands and gently push the head
13 section down onto the body part. This will help your model to stand
up by itself on a flat surface.

You have finished your T. rex model!
