    beaches. Montevideo, the capital, is located near the Plaza de la Independencia, where it
    was once a Spanish castle. This leads to the old city, where there are Art Deco buildings

    MOST IMPORTANT CULTURAL EVENTS IN URUGUAY

     Celebration of the Embrace of the Big Solis: the union between residents of both
    departments is honored, national artists, Creole parades, equestrian events, a
    gastronomic contest and sports activities participate. All the proposals are framed
    within a natural environment on the banks of the stream that acts as the boundary
    between Maldonado and Canelones.
