BPT Lesson
Lesson Idea
X Teacher-directed: There is no student voice and choice in the activities. Students are guided by the
teacher's direction and expectations.
☐ Student-Led: Students are given voice and choice in the activities. They may select the topic for
presentation and/or determine the tool they will use to meet the learning goal. Products of
learning will be uniquely designed. Teacher simply facilitates the learning in a lesson like this.
X Project-based and/or Publishable: Students are completing projects to demonstrate their learning
and the projects can be shared outside of the classroom. This objective could be reached by
displaying the project on the school’s morning newscast, posting the project to the classroom
blog, presenting it to another class, or publishing it via an outside source.

Lesson Idea
This lesson gives students freedom to express. Themselves in story telling. Students will be
able to write a story about whatever they like. But this project also has students use their
understanding of segmenting affixes and roots words to find the word meaning, while also
using the words in context.
Managing the technology/engagement: Describe a way to use this technology in a way that
gets students actively involved in authentic tasks and contexts? How will you manage the
classroom behaviors on the technology:
Too encourage collaboration, I will provide students with the option of working with a single
partner to complete one powerpoint presentation.
This will be a three-day project that will be worked on during ELA time. This is two class
periods to complete the project, and one class period to present.
Universal Design for Learning (UDL): This lesson reflects the expression principle of the
Universal Design of Learning. Students are able to learn the material and express their
understanding of the material through their own creativity on the PowerPoint program.
Instead of all students taking a test, students can use their own likeness to create a
presentation that represents both the material and their personality.
Reflecting on enhanced learning: I think PowerPoint will help students find their creativity in
learning. They are able to use different pictures, transitions, layouts, and colors, but they still
present the topics covered in class. I look forward to implementing PowerPoint presentations
into the classroom as a way to collect evidence of learning. I think asking students to show
their learning through their own creativity is more useful and rewarding than testing.
