INTRODUCTION :-

A bore hole has been drilled at Fatepur P.W.S.S Tubewell No. – II, Block Ramnagar-I under Digha
Sub Division of Tamluk Division P.H.E Dte, Purbo Medenipure, West Bengal. up to the depth of 230
m by direct rig rotary method
Diameter of the bore hole was 8 inches at the time of log.
Tube well has been electrically logged on 30.09.2023 up to the depth of 226 m adopting multi electrode
system of logging which enables determination of true resistivity of the formation encountered at time of
logging .
Spontaneous Potential (S.P) ; Long Normal (L.N) 1.6 m & Short Normal (S .N) 0.4 m resistivity data has
been plotted in mm graph sheet with depth . Four electrodes two for emitting current and two for potential
measurement constitute the system .
Recommendations are made on the basis of effective porosity , yield , quality of water , for construction of
production well . The tube well in question will be successful and yield good amount of water with good
quality , provided all steps of well construction are maintained .

SAND ZONES :-

As per electrical log parameters there are four clear sand zones have been identified as under.

65 to 106 m Zone A , 118 to 132 m Zone B, 150 to 182 m Zone C , 194 to 206 m Zone D

QUALITY AND QUANTITY OF WATER:-

On the basis of electrical log parameters Zone A, B and C in between 147 to 165 m , 177 to 183 and
195 to 201 m are recommended for placement of strainer.
From the behavior of log characteristics as recorded in the bore hole and as per the drilled out samples, it
may be infer that the quality of water in the identified granular zones will be free from salinity.
TDS – Good.

Expected Yield Moderate .

RECOMMENDATIONS :-

1. Strainers are recommended for placement in Zone A, B and C in between 147 to 165 m , 177
to 183 and 195 to 201 m
2. Expected Yield - Moderate .
3. Quality :- Free from salinity & TDS will be within acceptable limit.
