ENGLISH TASK

1. Metaphor

Metaphor is a figure of speech that is used a word but does not have the actual meaning, but is
used as a comparison or similarity. For example, when I'm angry I look like a lion.

2. Simile

Simile is a figure of speech that compares two different things but is considered to contain
similar aspects, using the words "like" or "as". For example, their relationship is like a roller
coaster.

3. Hyperbole

Hyperbole is a figure of speech used intentionally to explain something excessively. For


example, now I can eat as much as I want and won't be full.

4. Personification

Personification is a figure of speech that puts human characteristics into objects or creatures
outside humans. This means making it appear as if objects have human characteristics. For
example, my alarm clock yell at me every morning.

5. Irony

Irony is the use of words that say the opposite of what you really mean, often used as a joke. For
example, when you meet someone taller than you instead of saying you are very tall, you said
you look so small I can’t even see you.

6. Idioms

Idioms are words whose meaning cannot be interpreted in general, but represent certain
expressions contained in them. For example, when he gets angry he starts to sound like a broken
record.
