Reference: Applicable Honeywell Maintenance Manuals and Approved Flight Manual Notes
Purpose: To furnish an updated list of lubricating oils approved by Honeywell Engines, Systems
& Services for all models of the TPE331 and TSE331 engines. Table 1 lists those oils
approved for pre-century through -15 engine models.
NOTE: 1. In all cases, the aircraft flight manual will take precedence and should be consulted
as to the viscosity type rating of the oil approved for that particular installation.
2. This list of approved lubricating oils contained in this revision supersedes all previous
revisions of this SIL.
3. For oil change intervals, refer to Engine Maintenance Manuals or Service Bulletins
defining periodic maintenance schedules.

NOTE: Due to the higher viscosity of MIL-PRF-23699, Type II oil, starting difficulties or slow cranking
of the engine may be encountered at ambient temperatures below approximately 30°F
(–1°C). This problem will be more in evidence after the aircraft has cold-soaked for several
hours. Engine preheat is recommended. MIL-PRF-7808, Type I oil, may be used in lieu of
Type II if engines are not preheated at these lower ambient conditions.
