Adjective
- modifies a noun or pronoun by describing, identifying, or
quantifying words
- has no plural form
Examples:
We got a new teacher. new – adjective teacher – noun
He is wearing an old jacket. old – adjective jacket – noun

Abby is boring. Abby is bored.
Abby – noun Abby – noun
is – linking verb is – linking verb
boring – adjective bored – adjective

boring – subject complement bored – subject complement
Adjective
past participle form of verbs as adjectives:
You must be tired after the long journey.

The boxing match was very bad and I was bored.

We were amused by Roberto’s funny jokes.

It must have been a very tiring journey.

It was a boring boxing match.

We found Roberto’s jokes amusing.

number → order → size → age → shape → color → origin → material → purpose

Adjectives come in three degrees: positive, comparative, and
superlative.

positive – base form of adjectives


comparative – used to compare 2 things
superlative – used to compare 3 or more things
