I. System Descnptiora:
The marker receiver operates on 75 Mhz carrier fi-equency and provides both, visual and aural
indication of passage over marker beacons.
The marker lights illuminate whenever the marker receiver in the VOR navigation receiver
detects a marker beacon.Marker beacon transmitters, located on specified distance fi-om the
runway or on airways used to provide accurate fixes by informing the pilot of his passage over
a beacon station by flashing blue (for outer marker), amber (for middle marker), or white (for
airway marker) lights. Simultaneously MARKER audio signals are audible to the pilot.
A HIILO sensitivity switch provides a means to adjust the receiver sensitivity to HI awaiting a
marker beacon or L 0 for beacon passage.
