Grade: II
Topic / Concept: Calculation of an area of a rectangle
Expected Learning Outcome: Students will understand how to calculate the area of a
rectangle.

Resources Needed:
1.Pencil
2.Notebooks
3.Whiteboard
4.Marker

Lesson Activities:

Time-45 Recapitulation of pre-lesson: Teacher will start the class by showing them white
minutes board, notice board, classroom door, teachers table, student desk, attendance
register, books and copies. Then teacher will discuss with the students how to
10 measure those areas by using square units. After that teacher will introduce the

Main activity (During Lesson): Teacher will divide the class into 4 groups then she

will provide flash cards to the students with different shapes, then students will

calculate the number of square units in each shape and will write the answers on
the flash card itself.
Plenary (Post Lesson): As students have learnt about how to calculate the area of

Exit question – Measure the area of your study room by using square units.
