AVIONdC MANUAL

Introduction to EGD's Modular Drawing System Setup

ECD has installed a modular drawing system, wherein each single Main Unit is represented
on its own specific drawing.

These drawings are called 'Module Drawings", and enclose the unit itself and all comection
lines necessary for operation such as power lines, signal lines, control lines etc.

The lines are drawn solid between the Main Unit and the Terminal Block (TB).

The drawing "Indicator Interface", which has its own drawing number, reflects the
interconnecting between the TB's for the NAV system and associated systems in dashed lines.

The drawing "Communication Interconnection", which also has its own drawing number,
reflects the interconnecting between the TB's for the COM system and associated systems in
the same manner as the "Indicator Interface" does.

The drawing "Overhead Panel", which has its own drawing number, shows the internal wiring
of the Overhead Panel between the panel disconnecting plugs and the respective circuit
breakers belonging to a special system.

The "Ground Distribution" system drawing shows the ground terminals where the respective
ground lines from the separate Module Drawings are connected to.

The location of the Terminal Blocks is rendered in section "COM / NAV / ELT Installation"',
where a general arrangement of the Helicopter shows the location of equipment, antennas, and
Terminal Blocks etc. installed.

All lines of similar function are summed up in code-Nr. blocks.

The code number consists of two blocks with four characters each.
The first four characters refer to the respective system, the second four characters are
numerical line designations, starting from 0000.

The line designations on both the Interface Drawings and the Module Drawings are identical
to ease line- tracing from the module to the respective Terminal Block.

The above mentioned points taken together with all the line designations shall provide an easy
access to a rough and detailed signal tracing in case of component or system failure.
