TRANSLATION

Am here again today2 with my culture

shout outs, @anikys3reasure the real
Yoruba girl, What i brought for you today
is THE YORUBA MODE OF DRESSING, The
correct Yoruba people3 that loves fashion
and the Yoruba modes of dressing should
come closer, Get a sit, relax and read
through what i have for you.

Dressing is one of those7 things very

important in the Yoruba land, Dressing is
that thing that doesn't have mouth but
speaks a lot, when2 a lot of people hear
DRESSING, what comes to their mind is
WEARING CLOTHES but 2dressing is
more than Wearing Clothes, DRESSING
encompasses a lot of things in the Yoruba
land like Wearing Clothes, Use of Beads
and Hair making.

Yoruba has di"erent clothes8 that

di"erentiate them from other tribes and
their dressing is their Pride most
especially when it comes to Occasions and
Wedding Ceremonies. Yoruba gives6 lots
of importance to how a Yoruba
Man/Woman is dressed because they5
believe their dressing tells a lot about
them and their various homes3. They also
believe peoples dressing depicts their
social status and personality in the
society5.

The Yorubas have di"erent dressing for

di"erent occasions, For Example1, when
they are having coronation ceremony, We
can easily recognize the king or the chiefs
with2 their outstanding dresses, Crown,
Beads and white Anthers in their hands.

Yoruba men usually wear3 Buba, Esiki,

Agbada, Gbariye with di"erent shorts and
trousers like Sooro, Gbaanu with caps like
Abeti Aja, Gobi and so on. While Yoruba
women wear Iro and Buba, Gele and
Iborun, They also wear beads 4like
Iyun(Coral), Akun, Lagidigba whether6 on
their necks, legs or waist with di"erent
lovely hair styles like kolese, Ipako-Elede,
Suku, Kojusoko, Alagogo, Konkoso6.

Yoruba women and ladies covering their

nakedness and men taking good care of
themselves by dressing neatly is very
important to the Yorubas. Females are
only allowed to expose their hands, legs
and sometimes their hair because they
give more respect and care to women in
the8 Yoruba land. Most especially the
single ladies of which Elderly women are
to look a#er them as regard their
dressing.

This is where i will be stopping for this

week.

Now this is partiality of the highest order, haha. First i cant read
yoruba, secondly, only yoruba culture/ dressing was promoted.
What happens to mine? Only a picture is not enough. But in all,
this is hardwork. Very commendable. Before long i will learn
everything about yorubas from you. E se o, iya oko mi. Hope i
got it?
