 Chairman’s Message
As the Chairman of CII Haryana, my
experience of the year gone by has
been an extremely enriching and
informative one.
The year began with the outbreak of
second wave of COVID-19 and our
country grappled to counter the
threatening impact of the pandemic
on the lives of its citizens as well as
on the economy. However, the
Government of India with support
from the State Governments took
number of initiatives to contain the
spread of COVID-19 and to put the
economy back on track.
As a result of the phased lockdown
in the country, economic activities
across Haryana also got impacted.
However, with announcement of
the unlock guidelines, Haryana, like
other States in the country took all
necessary steps to continue its
journey on the path of economic
development.
During the year 2021-22, CII
Haryana played a vital role in
addressing policy matters, engaging

with the government, building
competitiveness, and reaching out on
social matters keeping in mind the
theme for the year “CII4Haryana:
Business & Beyond”.
Ease of Doing Business was a prime
focus area this year. The task force
along with the panels worked on
comprehensive sectoral
recommendations through series of
consultation meetings.
We met the Political and Bureaucratic
leadership of the State including
Hon’ble Chief Minister, Hon’ble
Deputy Chief Minister, ACS - Labour &
Employment, Principal Secretary –
Industries & Commerce and many
more multiple times to strongly
highlight the issues that concern
industry and put forward our
suggestions and jointly worked on
resolving the issues.
Apart from the above, CII Haryana
worked extensively towards national
campaigns like ‘Atmanirbhar Bharat’
through focused forums and
conferences on subjects like
Automotive; Manufacturing; Supply
Chain; e-Mobility; Education;
Agriculture & Food Processing; Retail;
etc. which witnessed participation of
all important stakeholders.

Meeting 2021, CII organised a Plenary

The session dwelled upon new focus areas

and stronger, State Governments need to up
the ante at their end in order to meet the
vision of India@75 and a USD 5 Trillion Indian

POLICY RECOMMENDATIONS
On the basis of inputs received from Special Secretary- Under
members, CII submitted its suggestions to IT, Haryana Consideration

CII Steel Mart 2021
CII Steel Mart 2021 was organized on 2
December 2021 over virtual platform with
the theme ‘Steel to Steer India towards $5
Trillion Economy’. The objective of CII Steel
Mart was to bring together all the
stakeholders to deliberate upon and share
their experiences on various topics of
importance for development of the Indian
Steel sector as well as the steel user industry.
Shri Som Prakash, Hon’ble Minister of
Commerce & Industry, India delivered the
inaugural address and H.E. Mr Satoshi
Suzuki, Ambassador Extraordinary &
Plenipotentiary, Embassy of Japan was the
Guest of Honour on the occasion.
Deliberations were held on Policy
Perspectives, Enhancing Exports &Exploring
New Geographies, and R&D for product
innovation. A focused session on Japan was
also organized during the conference.The
conference was attended by over 200
participants from Steel industry including the
Government and private sector.

CII School Summit 2021
The 3rd edition of CII School Summit was
organized on 25 August 2021 over virtual
platform. Shri Vijay Inder Singla, Hon’ble
Education Minister, Punjab and Shri Govind
Singh Thakur, Hon’ble Education Minister,
Himachal Pradesh were the Guests Of
Honour during the summit and Dr Mahavir
Singh, Additional Chief Secretary –
Education, Haryana delivered the Keynote
Address.
The distinguished speakers deliberated on
various subjects related to school education
viz. National Education Policy 2020; Quality
Teacher and Taught Relationship; Quality
Education by adopting Best Practices: Role of
Digital Technology; Bridging Learning Gaps-
Curriculum, Pedagogy and Assessments;
and Deploying Innovative Disruptive
Technologies for Classroom Transformation.

CII NR Agri Inputs Summit
CII organized the 1st edition of CII NR Agri
Inputs Summit on 6 October 2021 over
virtual platform. Shri Virender Kanwar,

delegates from the agri inputs industry.
