History of the Petroleum Industry

A digital repository for historical resources on the early oil industry

Francesco Gerali, Ph.D. School of Library and Information Studies. The University of Oklahoma

The potential users of this collection are students, faculties, librarians, and industry practitioners
interested to work on primary sources on the history of the early oil science and technology; the
Italian oil industry; the Australian oil industry; and, the Mexican oil industry included between
the years 1860s-1920s.

This is an autonomous and no-profit initiative conceived on the base of a digital humanities
project developed by the author at the School of Library and Information Studies of the
University of Oklahoma. The items uploaded are the full-length or cover page of digital books in
Adobe pdf format. All the file updated can be downloaded freely. Those are paper-born
resources then converted in digital copy. The entire repository is composed of public domain
resources not more subjected to copyright restriction in the United States. It is responsibility of
every user to verify in advance if the resource of interest is still under copyright in his/her
country of residence.
